Description

Mammillaria gracilis fragilis monstrose ‘Arizona Snowcap’ is thimble cactus with loads of extra vitamins. This monstrose (“monster”) cultivar develops thimble-shaped bodies to 1.5" in height that are significantly obscured by tufts of snow-white spines and wool at the areoles. Clusters prolifically to form a dense mat, with the style of offsetting giving it a snowball-like appearance. Satiny creamy yellow flowers in late winter. A very ornamental, eye-catching cactus that makes it a “snow day” every day on a patio in its own container or mixed planter. Requires porous cactus soil. Prefers bright light with ample airflow. Cold tolerance to 25 degrees Fahrenheit, however, best to provide protection from frost to prevent scarring.
