Description
A juicy apple-green and red firebreather without a big footprint. That's what Kalanchoe 'Little Dragon' PP34,248 — an easy-to-grow and waterwise live succulent plant — brings to the yard...or your patio, porch, or garden bed. It makes an excellent counterpart in mixed planters to other succulents like aloes, echeverias, graptopetalums, and senecios, and sedums. 'Little Dragon' is a sport, or mutation, of the larger Kalanchoe 'Dragonfire' PP30,694. As 'Little Dragon' grows up, it develops large leaves for its compact size that overlap, curve, and bear a resemblance to the popular paddle plant (Kalanchoe luciae). 'Little Dragon' displays an upright form of dense foliage, offsetting (new babies!) at an early age to create an attractive cluster. Like paddle plant and 'Dragonfire', 'Little Dragon' especially stands out in mixed planters and garden beds when bright light or cooler weather compels its leaves to blush a deep red. That is when 'Little Dragon' is at its most fiery. Luckily for you, 'Little Dragon' is a purely visual beast and completely harmless to the touch.
