Description

Jovibarba heuffelii, originally from eastern Europe, forms ornate rosettes to 3" in diameter with waxy, rigid leaves. These plants are similar in morphology to Sempervivums, and are, in fact, related to Sempervivums. Unlike SempervivumsJovivbarbas tend to divide dichotomously (dividing into two portions) rather than offsetting. These are hybrids that have been developed for the stunning effect provided by their rich burgundy colors and contrasting pale yellowish-green leaf margins. Flowers are pale yellow. Considered tolerant to Zone 5. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright, filtered light. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch.
